Julie, Dawn, Sarah & Jane are important members of the Practice Team who work under the supervision of our qualified nursing team.

They carry out new patient medicals, take blood tests, check blood pressure, test urine, undertake simple dressings, remove sutures, weight management, smoking cessation, ear syringing and certain vaccinations.

Nicola heads the pharmacy team, providing leadership and oversight of medicines & prescribing within the practice. She is responsible for developing and implementing clinical policies, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and driving best practices in medicines management to optimise patient care, improve prescribing safety, and deliver efficient medication-related services.

Nicola has a special interest in cardiology and offers review appointments for patients with heart failure, irregular heartbeats (atrial fibrillation), high blood pressure and after having a heart attack or stroke.

In her role, Karina manages and optimises patient medications, including handling prescription queries, conducting medication reviews for long-term conditions, and providing clinical advice.

Jenny has a special interest in paediatrics and manages the blood-monitoring for patients on High-Risk Drugs.

Michelle supports the pharmacist team. She updates medication records following hospital discharge and outpatient appointments as well as helping with medication issues.

Rebecca is a mental health nurse and works across four practices in South Shore. She is available at Stonyhill Medical Practice on Tuesdays for telephone or face to face appointments. Appointments can be booked through the receptionists. She supports patients aged over 16 years old who are struggling with their mental health and or addictions. She has an extensive background in primary care mental health and can offer evidence based interventions for both anxiety and depression, eating disorders, Autism/ADHD, drug & alcohol addictions, problem solving, building resilience and building on personal strengths. She promotes positive mental health and well-being. She is able to refer to outside agencies that she feels may benefit you.

Steven is a specialist in addiction and has experience working with patients presenting with self-harm, intrusive thoughts, anxiety, trauma, depression, PTSD, dementia, relationship and grief issues. He offers 30-minute sessions and will follow up for as long as the patient requires. Steven can refer patients on to outside agencies that may be beneficial. He can also see our housebound patients at home.

Samantha can assess, diagnose, treat and advise on problems of the foot, ankle and lower limb.

Victoria can offer the following services to our patients:
- Assess & Diagnose without having to see a GP
- Give information on self-care and enable and support behaviour change
- Discuss fitness for work
- Steroid Joint Injections (only available for patients she has seen)
- Undertake social prescribing
- Discuss physical activity and health (eg smoking cessation & weight management)
- Refer for a course of treatment (eg physiotherapy or podiatry)
- Refer to orthopaedic/rheumatology/pain services
- Request investigations
- Medicines optimisation.

Our Practice Managers are able to help with any problems you may have with the way the practice is run. Anna-Marie and Susan are responsible for administration, staffing and finances within the practice. They are available to see any patient who wishes to express a complaint or has any suggestions or ideas that may help the practice be more efficient.

Our front line Reception Team answer telephone calls, deal with enquiries, test results and book appointments for all our services.

The practice also employs two Prescription Clerks who supports our Pharmacist Practitioners.

The practice is supported by Medical Secretaries, Data Input and Recall Clerks. Their job is very demanding but they are here to help you so please be patient with them.

The health visitors provide care and advice for the newborn to school-age children.

They can be contacted by telephoning the main switchboard on 01253 955464.

The Community Matrons and District Nursing Team deal with patients in their own homes and occasionally within the surgery.

Their patients are referred to the team from hospital or by the Doctors. They can refer patients to Social Services for assessment or other agencies for care and advice. The District Nursing Team also nurse terminally ill patients who wish to remain in their own home.
