SPRING COVID-19 BOOSTER VACCINE
If you are 75 or over call the practice on 956655 to book an appointment
You may be aware that all General practice teams have now been asked to clinically prioritise their services to free up maximum capacity to support the COVID-19 vaccination programme, alongside delivering urgent or emergency care and other critical services such as cancer. This includes pausing routine and non-urgent care and redeploying staff to support delivery of COVID-19 vaccinations.
Stonyhill Medical Practice has chosen to continue to see and speak to patients for their routine and non-urgent care whilst also running Covid-19 vaccinations. We ask that you are patient with us, the phone lines are busy as demand for on the day appointments is at an all time high and routine appointments for chronic disease reviews may be over 3 weeks but rest assured we will still triage acute and urgent problems on the day.
Thank you for your patience and continued support.
*Women's Health* 16.11.2021
We are in the process of setting up a women's health hub. Stonyhill will be part of a pilot which will hopefully be spread across Blackpool. This will hopefully give women a better chance of getting seen for women's health issues and reduce the waiting lists in secondary care. Up to now we are hoping to include fitting coils for heavy menstrual bleeding, pessary changes, incontinence issues and help & advise on the menopause. Obviously the clinic will start off small and hopefully expand.
We are looking for ideas from our patients on that they would like to be included in a women's health clinic. Please email email@example.com or send us a Facebook message with suggestions on what you would like to be included.
19.04.2021- As the country eases out of lockdown the practice is working towards returning to face appointments but we are not there yet
We reserve a number of appointments for SAME DAY EMERGENCIES, so if your condition means you need to see a health professional urgently, please call as early in the morning as you can, and help us by being prepared to tell the receptionist a bit about the problem so that they can make sure you receive the most appropriate support.
You will receive a return phone call from a doctor or one of our nurse practitioners or our Paramedic Practitioner. Nurse practitioners and Paramedic practitioners are trained to assess, diagnose and manage a wide range of conditions, and can prescribe for most common illnesses and refer on if required. You may be asked to come in to the surgery for an appointment, or we may recommend you take a different route to give you the quickest and most appropriate help with your problem. Many of our patients find this quick response by telephone convenient and effective.
Thank you for your continued support during this time.

CHANGES TO REPEAT PRESCRIPTION ORDERING
From 20th April 2015 we will be making changes to the way you currently order your repeat prescriptions. We will be replacing this with Emis Access which will enable you to order your medication directly into the practice clinical system. You will also be able to book appointments online to see a GP of your choice.
If you still want to place prescription orders online you will need to call into the practice and pick up a access registration form or we can email you one.
The myGP app lets you book GP appointments, blood (only blood tests) tests with nurses order repeat prescriptions and set up medication reminders on your smartphone.
The Electronic Prescription Service will go live on the 27th August 2015. You will be able to nominate a pharmacy of your choice. You will need to sign up for this with your pharmacy and at the GP practice in person.
More information can be found at systems.hscic.gov.uk/eps/patients Where you can download a patient leaflet
